St. Francis Medical Center was presented with the Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award and Target Stroke Honor Roll Elite by the American Heart Association (AHA) at the 2020 International Stroke Conference held on Feb. 20 in Los Angeles. The award recognizes the hospital for performance achievement in the AHA’s Get With the Guidelines (GWTG) Stroke® quality improvement program. Members of St. Francis’ Stroke Care Team were on hand to accept the award on behalf of the physicians, nurses, ancillary and support staff who work together each day to provide stroke patients with the highest quality care.
St. Francis Medical Center has consistently been recognized by the AHA through its GWTG program since the hospital first attained certification as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center in 2014. As in past years, the award has special meaning for the stroke team for it affirms their commitment to saving lives and preserving quality of life for stroke patients. Congratulations to our Stroke Care Team!
